Lee Walker, BSc

Lee has 25 years of technical and operational leadership experience working in large multi-national and start-up organisations within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. A pragmatic scientist with strong and diverse biochemistry, molecular biology, cellular/microbiology background focusing on the product development of POC & home-use OTC IVDs.
Lee has significant experience working in the fields of infectious disease, pregnancy and fertility, haematology, coagulation and genotyping, working with all blood products, saliva, urine, nasal and vaginal swabs.
Lee also has an excellent track record for assay design & development, system integration, troubleshooting, NPD ,V&V and transfer to manufacturing, expertise which is highly relevant to HemoGAD’s current research.
Dr Michael Platt, MA, MBBS, FRCA, FFPM, RCA

Dr. Platt graduated as a doctor from the medical school of the University of Western Australia in 1977.
After training in pain medicine and anaesthesia in Perth and in London he became Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia at Imperial College and St. Mary’s Hospital in 1991. He is now Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at St. Mary’s Hospital and Imperial College Faculty of Medicine. Michael is also Honorary Consultant in Palliative care for Kensington and Chelsea Primary Care Trust.
Michael was awarded an MA in Bioethics from Surrey University in 2005, with a special interest in end of life issues, particularly in pain medicine.
Jacqueline Fairburn Platt, BSc

Jacqueline is the Deputy Head of Quality for Health Education England, South Region and Associate Dean for Quality Improvement, Health Education England.
Jacqueline is also Clinical Dementia Lead, NHS Health Education, Thames Valley. Dementia has been directly linked to iron overload / Hemochromatosis in a number of studies, as have other mental health issues.
